Liverpool Sound Collage is an ambient techno album by
Paul McCartney,
which is also credited to
The Beatles,
Super Furry Animals
and
Youth,
the last of whom McCartney had released two projects with
under the moniker
The Fireman.
Because McCartney was so heavily involved in its creation,
in addition to his production credit, Liverpool Sound
Collage, which was released in
2000,
is generally considered a part of his official discography.
Asked by artist
Peter Blake
to create something musical and with a Liverpool spirit to
it, in order to complement his concurrent artwork exhibition,
McCartney ended up harking all the way back to session
chatter by
The Beatles
(hence their "involvement") and using snippets of his
1991
classical piece
Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio.
He also can be heard walking the streets and asking various
pedestrians to give their impressions of Liverpool and The
Beatles. |

"Liverpool Sound Collage" ist ein dem Techno sehr nahes
Album von Paul McCartney mit eingespielten Aufnahmen der
Beatles sowie unter Beteiligung der "Super Furry Animals and
Youth". Mit letzteren hatte McCartney bereits zwei Projekte
unter dem Pseudonym "The Fireman" realisiert. Wegen der
starken Beteiligung Mccartney´s an diesem Album, wird es im
allgemeinen seiner offiziellen Diskographie zugeordnet. Auf
Wunsch des Künstlers Peter Blake, für seine Bild-Ausstellung
eine musikalische Untermalung im "Liverpooler Geist" zu
schaffen, arbeitete Mccartney u.a. Sitzungsgeschwätz der
Beatles (daher ihrer "Beteiligung") und Stückchen vom
"Liverpool Oratorium" ein. Es ist auch zu hören, wie er
durch Liverpools Straßen geht und Füßgänger zu Ihren
Eindrücke von Liverpool und den Beatles befragt.
